Good afternoon,
This has been a momentous week for Meet Boston. Yesterday we gathered with our Boston and Cambridge hotel partners at The Lenox Hotel to reauthorize our Tourism Destination Marketing District for another 5 years (commencing in October of 2026). This guarantees dedicated destination marketing funding moving forward and we are proud to report that the reauthorization vote was unanimous.
October has been incredibly busy for the Meet Boston team. The month kicked off with IMEX America where the team held over 500 appointments, a 25% increase over last year, and hosted eleven buyer presentations at the booth. We had nearly 30 partners join us at IMEX this year and many of them have already reported definite pieces of business.
Last week I attended Brand USA Travel Week in London as they unveiled their new America the Beautiful campaign. The event was very engaging and informative as always. We continue to see stable visitation numbers, and even marginal growth, from several of our key European markets.
Meet Boston was honored to be recognized as one of The Top 100 Women-Led Businesses by the Women’s Edge, a collaboration with The Boston Globe that was announced in the Globe Magazine’s Women & Power issue this month. I had the pleasure of attending the reception event along with several members of my senior leadership team at Meet Boston.
